Why Google AdSense Keeps Rejecting Your Site — Real Reasons

AdSense rejection emails are frustrating because they are deliberately vague. You get a message that says something like site does not meet our publisher policies or insufficient content without much explanation of what that actually means.

But after watching this happen on multiple sites and reading a lot of other people’s experiences, there are patterns. Here are the real reasons sites get rejected and what you can do about each one.

Not Enough Content

This is the most common reason. Google wants to see that your site is a real, established resource before they will put their ads on it. A site with three posts is probably going to get rejected. A site with five thin posts is also probably going to get rejected.

There is no official minimum number. But from what I have seen work, you want at least 15 to 20 articles before applying. They should be properly written — at least 800 words each, covering the topic in a way that is actually useful to someone reading it.

New Domain With No History

A brand new domain that just launched a few weeks ago often gets rejected even if the content is fine. Google wants to see some age on the site. The practical advice: build the site, publish good content consistently for 2 to 3 months, and then apply. Do not apply the day you launch.

Missing Legal Pages

Privacy policy is required for AdSense. If your site does not have one, rejection is almost certain. Terms of use and a disclaimer are also good to have.

Your privacy policy needs to mention that you use Google AdSense and that it uses cookies to serve ads. It does not need to be written by a lawyer. It just needs to exist and cover the basics.

Traffic From Suspicious Sources

If your site got a burst of traffic from purchased clicks, bot traffic, or paid social promotion designed to inflate numbers, Google may flag it. The AdSense review looks at your traffic patterns. If your traffic is all organic search and normal social sharing, you are fine.

Copied or AI-Generated Content

Content copied from other sites, spun from existing articles, or generated entirely by AI without any real editing is a problem. Google’s content policies require original content. Writing your own articles in your own words is the right approach.

Adult Content or Other Policy Violations

AdSense does not allow ads on sites with adult content, content promoting illegal activities, dangerous products, gambling content without proper licensing, and similar categories. If your site is a clean informational site about a normal topic, you are not in this category.

What to Do Before Applying

Before you apply for AdSense, make sure your site has at least 15 to 20 well-written articles, has been live for at least 2 to 3 months, has a privacy policy page that mentions AdSense and cookies, has an about page, has a contact page, has clean organic traffic, and has original content on every page.

What Happens After Rejection

Fix the issues. Wait at least 30 days. Apply again. Do not apply immediately after being rejected — the same reviewer may see it and reject it again without looking closely. Give yourself time to make real improvements.

There is no limit to how many times you can apply. Most sites that are genuinely good sites eventually get approved. Keep building content and keep improving the site in the meantime.
